Now that you have your replacement windows installed, you want them to enhance the inside and outside appearance of your home. This however, is not exactly possible if your windows are not clean. If you feel like you are literally doing everything you can to keep your new windows clean, but they still do not look great, here are a few tips that can make life a bit easier.
- Streaky Windows – Washing your new windows can be a very tiresome chore, especially if you can’t seem to get rid of the water streaks. To avoid water streaks, try using a squeegee with a soft, smooth rubber edge. Also, never wash your windows when they are exposed to direct sunlight.
- Dusty Blinds – Do you feel that your blinds are dust magnets? To keep dust from settling and piling up on your blinds, spray them with an anti-static spray (Static Guard) after you clean them.
- Moldy Frames – If you find mold or mildew on the frames of your windows, getting rid of it is not that difficult. To eliminate spots of mildew on your frames, spray them with a bleach-detergent solution and then let it sit for 8 to 10 minutes. After you have let it sit, rinse your frames with clean water. If the mold or mildew is thick, you may have to repeat this process one more time.
- Consistently Dirty Windows – After cleaning your windows, do they get dirty way too fast? To combat this issue, try replacing the filter(s) on your air conditioning or heating system(s). Doing this will help trap dirt and dust before they have the time to settle on your windows.
